Scholarship holders for master’s courses in Germany will receive:

  • € 934 per month
  • Health insurance coverage in Germany

How to Apply:

  • To apply for the DAAD Helmut-Schmidt Program (Master’s scholarship in Public Policy and Good Governance), all applications must be in English or German.
  • Indicate clearly that you are applying for the program.
  • You can apply for up to two master’s courses from the list below.
  • Carefully read the DAAD selection criteria provided in the checklist and sign the list with your original signature, indicating the place and date.
  • Fill out the DAAD application form ‘Application for a research/study scholarship’ once and specify your selected master’s course(s), indicating your first and second priority.
  • If you’re applying for two master’s courses, rank them in order of preference in your motivation letter. Clearly explain why your first choice is your top priority and why you chose the second one. Provide clear reasons for each choice to demonstrate how it will benefit you academically and professionally. Submit the same letter of motivation to both courses.
  • Submit the application form and the required documents (see below) to the master’s course(s) of your choice (maximum of two).
