Science by Women Programme is the mission of The Women for Africa Foundation (FMxA), contributing to the development of Africa through the drive of its women, is launching the 7th Edition of SCIENCE BY WOMEN programme.
The main purpose of Science by Women Program is to empower African women scientists and researchers to address Africa’s major challenges through research in health and biomedicine, sustainable agriculture and food security, water, energy, and climate change.
Science by Women:
The consequences of uncontrolled development have a considerable impact on women’s lives; but, social, structural, and economic restrictions limit their ability to address the continent’s major concerns. Gender discrepancies in science and technology, both in the public and private sectors, have an impact on Africa’s population.
The ultimate goal of the programme is to enable African women researchers to play a key role in Africa’s transition to a knowledge-based and innovation-led economy by conducting research that can be translated into products, processes, services, and technologies that have a positive impact on people’s lives.

The Science by Women Program provides with following benefits.
The Science by Women Program will fund six-month visiting senior fellowship for experienced African Women researchers in different international research centers.
- Provides with Return flight from their center of origin to the host institution
- Living allowance of 2.400 Euros gross per month which cover accommodation, personal expense and health and occupational accident insurance coverage.

Eligibility Criteria:
In order to be eligible for Science by Women Program, Applicant must meet following criteria.
- Being a woman
- African country National
- Must be a PhD Degree holder
- Must have good academic results
- English Proficiency Knowledge
- Proven experience leading a research group
