Erasmus Mundus GLOBAL STUDIES Scholarship 2025-27

The program lasts 2 years (4 semesters). International Students will study for one year at two European universities and spend the third semester at a university outside Europe. If you earned your degree at a university where English was the main language, you do not need to take an English language test.

The Erasmus Mundus Master in Global Studies (EMGS) is a joint master’s program offered by five top European universities, along with partner universities worldwide. It prepares students for careers in and outside academia by training them to understand and analyze globalization from different perspectives.

Eligibility Criteria for Erasmus Mundus GLOBAL STUDIES Scholarship

All international students can apply.
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in:
- Humanities
- Social sciences
- Related fields, including:
  - History
  - Area Studies
  - Economics
  - Cultural Studies
  - Sociology
  - Political Science
  - Human Geography
Proof of English language proficiency is required.
Applicants are exempt from the English language test if they completed their previous degree at a university where English was the sole language of instruction.

How to Apply?

The application process is conducted online through the AlmaWeb portal of Leipzig University. Applicants should select “Global Studies, Master, 1st semester” as the program of choice. Following are the documents required:

Curriculum Vitae (CV): A detailed document outlining your educational background, work experience, skills, and achievements.
Motivation Letter: A personal statement explaining why you are interested in the program, your career goals, and how the scholarship will help you achieve them.
Proof of Nationality: A document, such as a passport or national ID, to verify your citizenship.
Proof of Residence: Official documentation showing your current place of residence.
High School Diploma: A certified copy of your high school completion certificate.
High School Transcripts: Academic records showing the grades and subjects completed during high school.
University Diplomas: Copies of certificates for all completed university degrees.
University Transcripts: Detailed records of grades and courses completed during your university studies.
English Test Results: Evidence of English language proficiency, such as TOEFL or IELTS scores, unless exempt.
Proof of Knowledge of Another Foreign Language: Documentation showing proficiency in an additional foreign language.
