Selected young professionals receive a five-year work contract with the World Bank Group, along with access to various financial products and assistance. The Fully Funded program is a merger of the World Bank’s young professional program and the International Finance Corporation’s young professional program.
The program trainee individuals on behalf of three institutions: the World Bank Group, the International Finance Corporation, and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency. The shared goal of these institutions is to develop future leaders for collective global impact.

Eligibility Criteria for World Bank Young Professionals Program
- The candidate needs to have a master’s or doctoral degree in a related field.
- The applicant’s area of expertise should align with the specific business area of the Young Professionals Program (YPP Business Areas).
- The candidate should have relevant work experience or be willing to pursue a doctoral program.
- High level English proficiency is required.
- Candidates from World Bank Group member countries and countries where the Bank operates will be given preference.
- The candidate should be born on or after October 1, 1990.
IFC and MIGA Recruitments
- The applicant needs to have finished their graduate degree before September 2023.
- The applicant’s field of study should be relevant to the IFC and MIGA business areas.
- A minimum of 4 years of work experience in related fields is required.
- The relevant fields of experience include finance, political risk insurance, credit enhancement, project or program development, economic development, or consulting.
- Possessing CFA certificates is considered an advantage.
Required Documents for the WBG YPP 2023:
- CV/Resume.
- Write a short essay.
- Summary of their thesis or dissertation.
- Three recommendation letters are needed, which can be academic or professional.
- Diploma or degree certificate.
- If applicable, include proof of enrollment and the expected graduation date.
How to Apply
- Before applying, make sure you meet all the eligibility criteria and have the required documents.
- The application needs to be completed within a 90-minute session. Once the session starts, you cannot save the application for later.
- Choose one of the three institutions (WB, IFC, MIGA) based on your skills and academic background.
- Duplicate applications will not be accepted.
- Write a short essay of 750 words or less, explaining how the World Bank Group can help our country’s clients achieve green, resilient, and inclusive development.
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited for virtual interviews in the next stage of the process.
- During the recruitment process, candidates will undergo a time-based computer-based financial test.
Deadline
There are two different deadlines for the application.
- For all profiles: July 3 – July 31, 2023.
- For IFC and MIGA profiles only: August 15 – September 30, 2023.
