International students worldwide are invited to apply for the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs at the University of Eastern Finland.
University of Eastern Finland Scholarships
The University of Eastern Finland (UEF) offers a range of scholarships to support international students in pursuing their academic goals. These international scholarships are available to non-European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA), and Swiss citizens who are required to pay tuition fees.
With nearly 500 student spots available across 25 programs, the university offers a range of opportunities. Non-European citizens are eligible to apply for scholarships provided by the University of Eastern Finland. These programs will commence in autumn 2025. As a public university, the University of Eastern Finland hosts a vibrant international community, with approximately 2,000 students from over 100 countries. Scholarship applications must be submitted alongside admission applications for the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs.

Scholarship Value/ Inclusions for University of Eastern Finland Scholarships
- Full Tuition Waiver: Covers 100% of the tuition fee.
- Partial Tuition Waiver: Covers up to 50% of the tuition fee.
- Finnish Proficiency Tuition Waivers: Available for application during studies at UEF.
Note: Tuition is free for Finnish citizens as well as citizens of EU/EEA countries and Switzerland.
Eligibility Criteria
- Both Finnish and international citizens are eligible to apply.
- Applicants must have completed secondary education.
- For Master’s degree programs, applicants must hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree.
- All applicants must meet the specific requirements of the chosen program.
Applicants who have earned a Bachelor’s degree from a university in one of the following countries are exempt from submitting an English language test:
Australia, Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Botswana, Cameroon, Canada, Dominica, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, the Gambia, Ghana, Grenada, Guyana, Hong Kong, India, Jamaica, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Namibia, New Zealand, Nigeria, the Philippines, Rwanda, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Sierra Leone, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, Tanzania, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, the United Kingdom, the United States, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
How to Apply?
Applicants are required to submit their applications online through the Joint Application system. This process is conducted via the national Studyinfo.fi portal, which serves as the centralized platform for managing applications to educational institutions in Finland. Applicants must ensure that they complete the application form and provide all required documents within the designated application period as specified on the portal.
