Applications are now open for the University of Hong Kong (HKU) Summer Program 2025! This fully funded, 10-week summer internship welcomes students from around the globe. Designed for Bachelor’s and Master’s students, the program offers the opportunity to work on research projects under the guidance of HKU faculty members. Internships are available for international students.
The program will run from June 2 to August 8, 2025, and no English language test is required to apply. Participants will also enjoy extracurricular activities and the chance to network with fellow students from around the world.

Eligibility Criteria for University of Hong Kong Summer Program 2025
The HKU Summer Program is open to students of all nationalities, including:
- Undergraduate students (their third or fourth year)
- Second-year undergraduate students (also eligible to apply)
- Master’s degree candidates who have already earned a Bachelor’s degree
How to Apply?
You need to apply online through online application:
- Personal and academic details: Include basic information about yourself and your education.
- Program preferences: Share your preferred faculty, department, field of study, and mentor(s).
- Personal statement (300-500 words): Write about HKU Summer Research Programme, what you hope to gain from it, your short- and long-term career goals, and which HKU program(s) interest you.
- Research interest (100-200 words): Visit the website of your chosen faculty/department/unit. Describe the research topics you’re interested in and the areas you’d like to focus on if admitted to the program.
- Supporting documents:
- A passport-sized photo
- CV
- The final or latest transcript and certificate of your Bachelor’s program
- The final or latest transcript and certificate of your Master’s program (if applicable)
- English language test results (if your previous institution is outside Hong Kong and doesn’t teach fully in English).
