Scholarship Value/ Inclusions for IMU Breakout Graduate Fellowship Program 2024:
The IMU Breakout Graduate Fellowship Program provides a maximum value of USD 10,000 per year, covering:
- Full tuition fees
- Accommodation expenses
- Travel expenses to the host institution (if it’s in a different country than the student’s home country)
- Basic living expenses depend on the cost of living in the country where the student will pursue their doctoral program.
Eligibility Criteria for IMU Breakout Graduate Fellowship Program 2024:

- Eligible in all countries
- Fellowship applications submitted by professional mathematicians, including retirees mentoring young students; preference for mentors who have guided the nominee
- Student eligibility:
- Resident and citizen of a developing country
- Pre-accepted for a doctoral program in a developing country’s university or research institution for the first academic year after selection or already enrolled in a developing country’s doctoral program
- No age limit for students
- Strong encouragement for nominating female students
- Fellowship granted annually, renewable based on satisfactory progress
- Fellowship concludes upon completion of the doctoral program or after four years, whichever is earlier.
