Scholarship Value/ Inclusions for Emile Boutmy Scholarship:

Undergraduate:

The Emile Boutmy scholarship is granted to students entering Sciences Po for their first year of undergraduate studies. The Emile Boutmy program offers several options:

There are FOUR tuition grant options available for the three-year undergraduate program:

  1. A tuition grant of €7,300 per year for the entire duration of the undergraduate program.
  2. A tuition grant of €5,000 per year for the full three-year undergraduate program.
  3. A tuition grant of €3,000 per year for the entire three-year undergraduate program.
  4. In exceptional cases, a scholarship of €19,000 may be awarded to cover the entire three-year undergraduate program. Scholarship amounts are determined by different admission committees.

Please note that if you’ve been granted a scholarship and choose to defer your admission, the scholarship will be forfeited.

During the year abroad (third year of the undergraduate program), scholarship recipients will continue to receive their tuition fee grant and, if eligible, the additional cost of living grant.

Masters:

The Emile Boutmy scholarship is bestowed upon students enrolling at Sciences Po for their first year of master’s studies. The Emile Boutmy program offers two options:

  1. A grant of €10,000 per year is provided to cover the tuition fees for the two-year master’s program.
  2. A tuition grant of €5,000 per year for the two years of the master’s program.

Similar to undergraduate scholarships, failing to successfully complete your academic year will result in the loss of the scholarship. Additionally, if you’ve been awarded a scholarship and decide to defer your admission, the scholarship will be forfeited.

Eligibility Criteria for Emile Boutmy Scholarship:

To be eligible for the Emile Boutmy Scholarship, check the following criteria:

  2. Eligible Countries: Open to applicants from all countries worldwide.

The following students are not eligible for the Emily Boutmy Sciences Po scholarship:

  1. Swiss and Norwegian students.
  2. Candidates with dual citizenship, including EU citizenship.
  3. Candidates from Quebec applying for master’s degrees (as they may benefit from sliding scale fees similar to European applicants). Candidates from Quebec pursuing bachelor’s degrees are eligible.
  4. Dual-degree master’s candidates are only eligible for specific dual-degree programs, including:
    • The dual degree in Journalism Sciences Po/Columbia University.
    • The dual degree Sciences Po/Fudan University with a concentration in Europe-Asia in Global Affairs (only applicable to Chinese nationals).
    • The dual degree Sciences Po/Peking University (only applicable to Chinese nationals).
  5. Ph.D. program students (thesis).
  6. Candidates for one-year Master’s programs.
  7. Bachelor dual-degree candidates.
  8. Exchange students.
  9. Candidates apply through the French graduate admission procedure.

Applicants cannot submit joint applications for both the Emile Boutmy Scholarship and the CSC (China Scholarship Council) or the Emile Boutmy Simple Scholarship. The Emile Boutmy scholarship cannot typically be combined with other scholarships like the Eiffel scholarship, AEFE scholarship, BGF, unless a special decision is made by the scholarship jury.

This scholarship is awarded based on merit and the specific profile sought for the program, with consideration for social criteria. It’s important to note that the scholarship is not automatically granted; candidates must express their intention to apply for it directly within their online application for a bachelor’s or master’s program.

How to Apply:

To apply for the Emile Boutmy scholarship, students should specify their intention within the “Financial Information” section of their Sciences Po application. Please be aware that we may request applicants to provide evidence of their income and documents elucidating their family circumstances.
