Scholarships Value/ Inclusions for Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme:
- Each fellow will get a yearly payment of HK$331,200 (about US$42,460) for up to three years.

Eligibility Criteria for Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme:
- Applicants need to be new, full-time PhD students.
- Applicants can come from any country in the world.
- Applicants must show that they have studied at the university level in English.
- If their previous education wasn’t in English, they need to give an English Proficiency Certificate.
- If an applicant isn’t starting a new PhD, they can only apply for this fellowship if they also get into another new, full-time PhD program.
- Applicants must pick from the provided list of 8 universities.
How to Apply?
- First, candidates need to apply separately to both the university and this Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme.
- To start, candidates need to apply for the fellowship. Fill out a form on the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme Electronic System (HKPFSES).
- Once you’ve submitted the form and it’s accepted, candidates will get a special number.
- Next, candidates need to apply to the universities they want to attend (up to 2 universities and 2 programs, depending on what they want most). When they apply to the university, they have to include the special number from the form they filled out earlier.
- If candidates forget to include this special number, their university applications will be considered normally, but they won’t be considered for this special fellowship.
- Remember, each university has its own deadline for applications. To make sure they get their special number in time, candidates should complete the initial form as soon as they can, before the university’s deadline comes up.

The application deadline to apply for Lingnan University is 2 December 2023, while for the other 7 universities, the application deadline is 1 December 2023.
